The only times I ever saw a bike start in gear was when some idiot wanted to show off, who ever hits the start button without knowing whether or not the bike is in gear ?
If you are so stupid not to make certain, sit on the bike and pull in the clutch.
How do you even survive riding on the street if you need a switch/light and other safety crap just to start your bike ??
I never fully trust some idiot light on the dash to let me know it is in neutral. How did I ever survive or not start my old shovels and sportsters in gear withot a cut out switch and dummy light ?? Kickstarters maybe?? naaa some had starters.
This reminds me of when I was a kid. I hooked a remote start up on my Suzuki 750 (don't ask) and didn't get the neutral wire hooked up correctly. Left a nasty oil puddle and a lot of snickers from onlookers.

any chance you have a video , would like to see that , and I all ways pull in my clutch to start mine just to take the extra load off the starter

careful with that high and mighty attitude. karma has a mean way of coming back around and biting you in the butt.
it has nothing to do with 'not being able to survive on the street', but more a case of 's*it happens'. all it takes is that one time that you forget to pull in the clutch after you parked it in neutral, and someone came by and tapped it into gear for you....
the neutral switch on the handlebar doesn't bother me. i don't care for the idea of a sidestand switch though.
