I'm going to order a set of the PM Elites from ebay. I have never replaced grips before, so I know this sounds dumb. How does the left grip stay on? And if I installed them on my stock bars for now, will I be able to re-use them for my new bars when I get the later on?

The left grip has two set screws that hold it on to the bars. Should not be a problem to take them off you present handle bars and install them on the new ones.

If I rode without gloves all these Renthals seem like no brainers. When it comes to what I wear on a bike, I think gloves are the only rule I have never broken. Do you full-time glove wearers still highly recommend these grips? With gloves it seems like overkill, and I'm leery about a grip that wears out even though you can buy replacement rubber.

I prefer the Elite's size, softer rubber and I also like the new ends better.
Is the Renthal rubber on the Elite's black or grey? I saw some Contours and rubber was grey didn't know if all them were grey or not.

I have the contour XL grips on my '07 and I like them better than the roland sands grips on my '12.

I have the contour XL and love them also. The PM grips are solid billet aluminum and the left grip is held in place with a set screw. If done right, it will NOT come off. I have to repull the wires inside my bars on the left side. It was nice just removing the set screw to get to the wires.

As mentioned above... You love them. Larger diameter for larger hands. I have big hands and always had cramps in my hands from standard grips. These are really comfortable.
