At least the hinges are 50% off the HD
(Thought everyone know H D stood for Hundred Dolla) I'll be the last one doing this but it is on the to do list..
Until I put mine on, I never gave much thought to the hinges.
Not to give away secrets...but did you know you can remove the hinge
pin with a #15 torx bit (just in case you lose your key and need to get
into your tour pack).
Can't do that with the upgraded hinges...(hint hint)
I did the hinges last week and they were a total PITA!!! The rivets in the old hinges were so loose that they would just spin with the drill bit. I didn't have a grinder so I had to use a chisel to cut the heads off. Took me about 2 hours to do it but it was really worth it. They look so much better.
I just paid $650 for a chopped tourpak, another $180 for the backrest pad and another $150 for the mount.. You'd think for $1000 Harley would INCLUDE the good hinges on the tourpack... THIS is why I HATE the MoCo... Nickel and dime you to death on these bikes...
