Love the look (have them on my bike) - doubt they're any stronger. Remember it's only as strong as the weakest link - and I suspect that's the screw threads.

Anyone have them installed who thinks they are stronger? They look great but I was wondering if they are an upgrade in quality as well? I have to prioritize my add ons, this is on the list but if its only cosmetic I have a few other things to get to first.
There is another 3rd party vender who has nice hinges as well. I can't remember who that was, but maybe somebody here remembers.
Pastor John, I would love to see a pic of your new bike. Strangely a close friend just move back from Atlanta and he traded his BMW in last month for a 08 Road Glide. I thought of you when he got the bike.
Beary, here's a snapshot of the new Ultra Classic. I really enjoyed the '08 Road Glide - put 55k miles on her in three years. The motor required more repairs over that time than I thought acceptable, so it was time for it to go.
Renlan, I don't know if the Premium Tour-Pak Hinges are more reliable than the stock hinges, but they sure look better. They mount slightly different than the stock hinges, and the hardware itself seems sturdier.
It looks like the race is on to be the last. I traded my 09 RKC in on a 11 ultra limited almost a month ago. I did the exhuast, tuner, and air filter, all must haves right away. The hinges are now on the list along with the retractable tour pack cord. THAT is a PITA. Love the new Limited tho.
You can replace the thick rubber gasket on the lid to stop the rattling. Its pretty cheap. Make sure you remove all traces of the old rubber before installing the new one.
Get in the habit of leaving your tourpack unlatched when you are home. It extends the life of the gasket because it won't be compressed all the time.
Got mine last year for $45+ shipping with a load of other little goodies as the round horn cover to replace the Cowbell; much better presentation, helluva lot beefier and sturdier, adds a nice finish to a spot that looked so cheap before.
