I'm back to stock, and I can actually use 6th gear now.
Before, cruise on, 6th gear at 65 or 70, a little grade would make the engine pull hard. Sometimes, one up, I would have to downshift as you could hear the engine straining.
Now, same situation, it takes a hell of a hill to force me to shift out of 6th.
YMMV. Flame away.
Maybe somebody should fill the boys in at fuel moto about the stage one download adding fuel!
Id be very surprised if FuelMoto wasnt aware of everything about a stage 1 download. That said, I recently posted a thread asking about a similar situation and didnt get a single reply. The scenario was this. I know a person who bought a 2000 RKC (fuel injected) with 95" BB and 203 cams. The original owner says he had a SERT on the bike but lost the SERT button so the new owner is left with either buying a new SERT or different tuner. In an effort to avoid buying a new SERT and having to pay for dyno time we decided maybe a Power Commander would be a cheaper way to go since he was thinking about changing some things that would require a new map. The Power Commander would allow him to get a new map without dyno time and save some money. My question was would the ECM need to be flashed back to stock callibration before installing the Power Commander. I still dont know the answer. Anyone else know?
I just brought home my new 2011 Ultra Limited on Friday. My last tourer was my 09 Ultra. This bike seems very tight, and I mean that in a good way. I do feel the heat from the 103, but what I noticed first and foremost is how good the bike runs, even brand new! I am going to leave it bone stock, stock a/c, exhaust, everything. This thing runs too good to screw around with, and the sound is just fine. I will do the pullback bars, but I'm not messing with the engine or exhaust.
Thoughts? Here's mine......alot of what people do to their bikes gives them more of a psychological effect of things are much better now, even when they were better off before the changes. These bikes are fine straight out of the box and most engine mods are a waste of time and money and some do more harm than good.
Torque is a function of back pressure among a lot of other things. When you open up the induction and exhaust systems you in general, get more Rs and top-end at the expense of torque or low-end. Again, in general, if you ride a lot of stop and go versus high-speed cruising, you're better off leaving it stock

unless they actually had thier hands on a 2010-2011 touring bike with a factory download on thier dyno they would not know. When I posed the question to dyno jet, which should have all kinds of resources at thier disposal, they said they had not actaully had a 2010-2011 touring bike with a stage 1 download and told me that they did not know Harley even was still doing stage 1 downloads.

Have the stage one downloades changed recently? By change i mean have they started to add fuel instead of just adjusting timing or something? I ask this because i talked to Keith from fuel moto about putting the pc5 on the new bike and i asked him about the stage 1 download from harley. He said dont waste your money because all it does is raise the bikes timing and does nothing with the fuel ratio! He stated that the maps they have already come with the timing change in them! Now i'm getting cornfused.
