Changed the "bad juju" 103" SG mostly back to stock today for the trade in. I had the Jackpot (fuel moto) headpipe, Rinehart 3.5" slip ons, SE heavy breather, and a power commander 5 downloaded with a map from Fuel moto. I left the heavy breather on the bike, put the stock mufflers back on the bike along with the stock headpipe, the bike already had the ecm reflashed from the dealer, and i also took the power commander off. My thoughts as i was driving it to the dealership was " this thing has more snap and low end mostly stock then it had with all the other stuff on!" How could this be? Basically i was more impressed with the mostly stock setup, the sound wasn't there because the "cat" headpipe and stock mufflers were back on but the performance was much better imo! Any thoughts?

Odd, only thing I can think of is the tune wasn't just right for Jackpot set up. Now with the stock pipe and mufflers you have more back pressure and the tuning might be just right now... That's just my guess.

Forgot to add i also removed the power commander before the trade in.
I'm not surprised. It isn't any secret that the big deal with choking off stockers, at least before the cat pipes, is the intake not the exhaust. Change the intake and dyno or rejet and get 10% more power. Then change just the exhaust to another set of duals and you will not gain much. Want to get a performance increase, get a 2 into 1. It still might not show any better peak h.p. but you will feel the difference and your friends will be watching your tail li

i have an 01 EG with 2011 SE 4'' take off slipons,no tuner, and stock aircleaner..it runs a lot better then open mufflers and stage one ac..i was just riding it today thinking its amazing how good it was running
I'm leaving my 2011 FLTRX 103 stock. It will be my first HD that I have not done mods on. Mine runs great & don't care how it sounds & if it runs hot, as long as it doesn'r ping. I'll do a re-map if it does. That's why I have the EXT. WARRANTY!!! It just seems to me that when you do any type of mods to these EFI engines & need tuners or whatever you call them, there seems to be problems. I'm sure guys out there have done mods & have no problems. But for me I'm into riding these days & not screwing around with some tuner. Of course that's my take on this.
