Bob, stores that sell police gear will probably have those ear plugs. "Surefire" sells a lot of gear related to LE. I need to be wearing something. Let me know how these work.

Hadn't thought of police-supply stores, but I haven't even gone by Home Depot yet. Maybe today's a good day for that. Also, the sporting-goods superstores like Cabella's or Bass Pro will have that type of thing. Will report back if/when I find any useful info.

Default elf 3 2125x amp

i recently installed an elf e2125x amp and j&m rokker series 7.25 speakers in my streetglide. it sounded great for a day brought bike to harley for some work afterwars stereo still sounded great about an hour or so later amp cut off. i opened the fairing back up and noticed the red light on showing a problem. anyway now if i have the gains all the way down and turn radio past halfway the amp cuts out, if i turn gains up it cuts out less that 1/4 volume. any help or suggestions?

Did you get these speakers installed? How does it sound?

I'll report back when they're installed. Together with the Hogtunes Tweeter Pod they will bring my final-load impedance up to 2Ω, which is more comfortable territory. The only qualms I have about these is their heavy weight. Here are some stats I've acquired in the past week:

No, they're expected to arrive on Tuesday. Will do a write-up on my impression of the combo at that time, including photos if I think about it.

I think the Hertz speakers will be the last item for me. The Hogtunes speakers with the Elf amp sound pretty good, probably good enough and I was on the fence about staying with the status quo, so I think the speaker upgrade will put me firmly into happy-camper territory. We'll see if that notion lasts.

Hmm, Amp gains should be between the "a" & "i" in GAIN - Freq set to HIGH - Bass boost 0 And crossover at 100-110.. If it still shuts down either the amp is messed up or wiring could be mis-matched ? I have been using my elf at this set up for 2 years. If it still happens, contact Saad at Elf.

If you set to "High" with a crossover of 100 hz., will you get a full range with the lowest frequency at 100 hz? If so, I assume "Low" is just the opposite, designed for subs. I have mine set to "Full" presently, but I can see how it might be easier on the speakers to set it to "High" with a crossover of 100 hz, as they likely can't reproduce lower than this anyway.

How do you get in touch with Elf when their website is a blank slate? They refer us to Act Mobile Video, but I see nothing about Elf amps there. Do you have any contact info?
