Default Need help!!!!!

Well to start I have a 1998 Electra glide classic. My bike keeps die on me when im driving down the road. Just today i took the hole bike apart and looked at all the wires and looked at all the fuses, everything is good. I do not have any codes coming up. But when it dies I can let it sit for like 5 minutes and then it will start back up. It runs good when it does. I asked for help before and a few guys said the cam sensor and one guy said the crank sensor but would'nt there be a code pop up if one of them are bad? Also could it be my stator? Anything would help

Check the circuit breaker, check the crank sensor, check the cam sensor. Start with the circuit breaker though.

Are they circuit breakers under the seat? If so are they marked what they are?

Also I have some oil looking liquid coming out of the tube in by the air filter. Is this normal?

Check under the seat at the upper frame crossmember and you should see the breaker. The oil looking liquid is oil coming out of the vent breather. You can open the rockers and check/replace the umbrella valve as they often need replacing after awhile.

I would second the crank position sensor. It's an easy replacement and the part is about $60.00 if memory serves.

1. carb or efi

2. common for the ignition switch contacts to burn out if extra lighting is added to those bikes

3. The bracket that held the "tip over sensor" on EFI bikes would sometimes break, causing the sensor to swing around under the bike...kinda like a tilt on a pinball machine- it'll shut the bike off, you coast to the side and it starts right up.

You may want to move your questions on your bike to the EVO section.

The guys there have lots of knowledge on your bike.

The blow by can be heavy if the oil tank is overfilled- run a pint lower than spec. The umbrella valves can go ( as mentioned above) but I've have them last 15 years and 80,000 miles, so....
