Getting winter upgrades ready, want to do extended bags, but my pipes ( bub 7 tru duels) won't even be close to being even with the rear of the bags, looks like it will be a few inches shorter.
1. Does somebody make a pipe extension from the header to the muffler.
2. Can I just got the right diameter pipe and cut it to the custom length I need.
3. Will extended this pipe change anything with the tune, back pressure etc...
Installed Bub-7 TD's on my 09 FLHX & they come out perfectly below the bags...extended would mold right around perfectly - don't know why yours are short..?? Can you post pics?
so just before you do all this, can you mock up the new length etc. with cardboard and tape to saddlebags---- make sure you have clearance like out of your driveway etc.
I have a Pal did the expended, lengthened and first trip out the drive way, he has one of those little gutters...tire goes down into it, muffler tips hang up on driveway and scrape...meanwhile both extended bags are ripped off the bike.
ice man no pics yet, didn't order bags yet, but running the lines down from the saddlebag its doesn't look like its gonna be flushed and the the fender overlay will be out further. Maybe your right and it will line up, just trying to get a feel of what I will need.
Maybe I'm off here, but pipes are in same location. Bag bottoms only thing longer. If they fit now wouldn't it be same with stretched bags. I know they taper out but not that much even with 4" extended. Curious myself now.
You can measure how much length you need, Might be able to get away with one of the little slip fit sections that you can buy off the shelf at most auto parts stores, or have a couple little little slip fit sections made to length at an automotive exhaust shop, they can probably make it from the scrap box.

I have the same exact issue with my Bub 7's and extended bags on my 2006. Not sure if the later models are any different or not. I loosened the front muffler clamp and the rear hangers, and slid the mufflers back as far as the hangers would allow. This got me close enough that it's not really all that noticible to other people, but I see it when I look at it and it bothers me. I called Bubs to see if they had any solution and they were no help. I love the way my bub 7's sound but between the peeling chrome tips and the too short muffler cannisters, I am on the lookout for other exhaust systems to find something else that I like. I think my prefernce right now is to go with V&H dresser dual head pipes and then I can use pretty much any slipon I want.
