I'm putting the detachable Tour Pak on my 2011 Street Glide and need to do something with the anntena.
The H-D parts book says I need antena Relo Kit p/n 76556-09. I looked that up, and it's a kit to mount the anntena inside the Tour-Pak. Well, since I'll be riding without the Tour Pak a lot, that won't work.
They also list p/n 76561-09 which appears to move the anntena so it attaches to the bracket that holds the bags in place. That seems like a good idea.
Just wondering what most people do.
I read the threads where people commented on the pros and cons of the hidden anntena. That seems like a great idea, but the reviews are certainly mixed. Some love, some hate. I tried a shorty antenna and it was only 'OK', not as good as the whip. The "whip" definitely works best so far.
Anyway, it would be helpful to hear about people's experience relocating the anntena and which kit they used.
If you find out you need the 76208-07 Antenna Relocation Kit let me know. I have one sitting in a box that I would sell at a good price plus USPS shipping from eastern North Carolina 27834.
I also have a Y connector plugged into the radio so when the Tour Pak is on I just unscrew the rear whip and it will pick up off the inside antenna. Then when the Tour Pak is off I just screw the Whip back on and it will use it.
