Seat for 2010 RG - I thought it would be easier to choose ...
Sorry for another seat thread! Really! I searched through a bunch of earlier threads and went to the manufacturers sites but still not sure which direction to go.
The bike (2010 RG Custom) has the real big (and comfortable) Mustang 2-up 19" seat with driver backrest, which is great when riding but real wide when planting your feet (at least when compared to the stock seat).
Figured I would start with Mustang and that site is confusing enough with models; Solo w/backrest 15" wide, Day Tripper 11.5" wide, Fastback 14" wide ...
Then there is C&C with their models.
Here's what I'd like: a solo seat, lower stance than stock by 1" or more, decent back support (backrest or fastback?) and comfort. I think I'd prefer leather, but there seems to be a lot of vinyl out there. Well, that's about it. All suggestions would be welcome and appreciated.
C&C makes a killer seat. You can get a solo with a backrest or a 2 up with a backrest. Vinyl or leather. Many stitch patterns to choose from and all for a reasonable price as well. Custom made to order. I sell a ton of their seats and swear by mine.
Pm or email with specifics on what you want and I can get you discounted pricing. Let's make the seat experience a simple and pleasant one. DREW@DRVTWIN.COM
+1 on C&C Seats!! I have 2 of them, their Sport Tour w/ backrest, leather & gel pad for touring & a solo w/ backrest & pillion for everyday riding. I've sat on a lot of seats in my riding days and these things are the chit!
Had C&C and Corbin.....Corbin is a harder seat but I find it more comfortable for those long full days in the saddle. C&C makes a great seat and is #1 in customer service, but my butt is not all that happy after 5-6 hours on it. With a Corbin I can do 10+ hours and still be happy. Unfortunatley Corbin cutomer service is no where near as good as C&C...but they make one hell of a nice seat.
I've got the Mustang solo 17" with rider backrest and I love it. It set me back and down, no problem flat footing, 31" inseam, 5'11", 2009 Electra Glide police.
This was my fifth seat. Original was police solo, then 2010 road king with gel, then 2010 SG, then 2011 SG low....Said enough with take-offs and bit the bullet.
Took my first long ride, 4-5 hours, last Saturday and it was fabulous.
...only has about 500 miles on it so far, so I am expecting it to only get better.
I have a pillion on the back when I want to take passengers
You should get enough out if the super touring to cover most of it...
Selling my C&C Seat off my 2011 Road Glide if your interested. I just posted it locally on Craigslist. Have a look and let me know if your interested...
Great Seats I just can't reach my bars to well as it put me back and lower and I'm
5' 8" with a full nights sleep. I think I'm going to try the speed cradle from Danny Gray to see if it gets me closer to the bars.
I've owned a lot of bikes and a variety of seats. I am on my fourth or fifth C&C seat..I think that says a lot. They are great to deal with and make a quality product.
