Handle Bars Replaced 11"
Okay so here is the LOWDOWN. I replaced the handlebars with 11' Cyclesmiths.
Very comfortable and this was a huge project for me. I took the front apart, took the (stock) bars off. I wanted to do it myself to save the $1300.00 every shop wanted to do the job.
After removing the bars I took off the controls and took the molex connectors off the wires.
(Tip) take lots of pictures and do research on the this website. There is a really good video available.
Next after removing the wires i internally wired them on the new bars. All the wiring was just long enough. The (TBW) was long enough too. The brake line fit perfectly and the Clutch Cable was snug so just to play it safe I did replace it with Barnetts +4 cable.
Here is the break down on the cost of doing the bars.
Bars: 175.00
Clutch Cable: 112.00
Time: 7 to 9 Hrs
I wanted to experience this whole job. I think working on your scooter yourself adds a little satisfaction and in my case I am learning and am proud to customize my scooter myself.
Again if it was not for the forum and the folks who have put little notes on how to replace the bars and do wirings i would not have undertaken this job...
