I have a 2003 EC Standard. It is also carbed. I have a SE air cleaner along with ing. mod. I am also running true duals. I am considering a 95" harley BB. Along with cams and head work. Maybe SE heads with some additional porting work. I mostly tour and about 30% two up. Just looking for some feed back or suggestions before I drop any coin. Thanks
Only feedback can give you is the fact that the 95" upgrade is/was the best coin I've spent on My '99 Ultra. Hands friggin down. I ride two up only 25% of the time. It's a 50% improvement over the stock 88" TC. Have the screaming eagle breather along with the Power Commander,and the ThunderHeader slip on's.
I thought I read on another post that the SE heads are more for the high rpm numbers, which you don't really use, especially 2 up. On that same post I remember them saying that it'd just be better to port your current heads. Plus when I look at the numbers on the dyno page it seems like most of the 100/100 numbers have stock heads that are ported and have new valves/springs.
Of course I could be wrong and I'm sure people that went through this can confirm/deny my memory.
Port you current heads, dont waste your $$$ on SE heads. Had them on my 03 Ultra with the 95" kit and 203 cams. After a SERT tune it was one peppy bagger!! Ran great great power 2 up.

I would recommend a head port cleanup like offered by BigBoyz cycles along with a slightly better cam (SE 204 or Andrews TW-26), using thin head (.03") head gaskets for better quench, and the 95" kit. If you don't want to be back in there paying repeatedly for labor, its best to get those three things done simultaneously. You will have a very strong running bagger that is completely reliable on any pump gas.
I went with more of a 'hot rod' setup and it took a lot of tuning to get it to not ping; and even now I need to run 92 or better octane or use booster. I've seen many set ups like I describe, getting 95% of my results with a much more 'user friendly' build.
I do not ride 2 up very much, but that is the biggest reason I did a 95" upgrade. The bike is a blast when I am solo, and has more than ample power when the OL is along for the ride. The bike is just so much more rideable now. I got a great deal on mine, but it would have been worth twice the price!
