The only Visable sign is my rear tire on the Pully side is rubbig on the inside of the fender
The Belt looks perfect - except for the "spaghetti" pull.
Nothing on the side -
SJ Harley still has my belt I go back in at 10 am Friday....will provide pics
I hope I can bring at least 5 independent pictures -
Thanks again for your help.... :i con_photo:
Here you go Track, The other bracket behind the cam washer is a lowering kit, in case you wonder what it is! The scribe marks on the Cam washer and the stop nub is when I first started adjusting my belt the first time. The distance between the marks is how far I've turned it in 20K miles and only two adjustments. My belt still looks new! I'd say you have a problem somewhere. Maybe a bad belt, I guess they checked your pully's. I'd say they should replace your belt free and warranty it. Good Luck, let us know how it turns out.
I am asking for a picture of your Axle Cone Nut Adjuster, because I know my rear wheel aliment / cam is wrong...
I am fighting with 2 mechinics who are trying to tell me the aliment of my cam is not that far off to cause the second belt to break....
I am being told that after 5k miles this tends to happen
"....the axle seats in..." I say B.S. !
I need some pictures to show them NOT TRUE They are wrong....
Today I am going to buy New Axle / Nut and Cam to prove my point...But I feel that xxxxxxx Owes me $400 for the belt / labor due to this misaliment that caused the second belt to break after 800 miles...
I need help - I need some pictures of your Axle Cone Nut Adjuster...
Just show him a picture right out of the HD Service Manual. I don't have the manual with me but I distinctly remember there is a picture clearly showing both cam washers butted right up against the nubs on the frame. Tell 'em enough already!

I'm sure the reason he wanted picture's from forum member's was to show the Dealer Mechanics, here's pics of other's who tightened their belt's and look, their cams are against the stops where they should be. JMO
You know if the dealer thinks this kind of work is acceptable and that is exactly what they are saying that it is ok to go against the Harley service manaul and not set the adjuster up against the block, maybe you need to look else where to have your work serviced at.
1.) Was able to get the Adjusters to work correctly
Found a bur on the Nut which caught the Cam and kept turning it out of Aliment - I have new Axle , Cam , Nut - perfect
METZLERS - they do rub on the inner fender as they are little wider than
Lops, hmmmm, going to need a bigger rubber malit
Aliment to the swing arm to front wheel is perfect - wow at 35k I was surprised..... just kidding...
Pullys, Bearnings, Cush Drive Rubber perfect
2.) Harley determined
Aliment was not that far out to cause the Belt to break in less than 900 miles
They have called a rep. from Harley to review there findings and feel I had a Faulty Belt and a full $$ refund is do me
Belt Price for sure $ 200
Labor for a Non-Harley shop $ 180.00 is a Maybe - should have done the work myself the first time.. live and learn
Another Note:
Harley did the re-call brake light switch - bleed the brakes and hmmm they feel funny... I'm going to bleed them myself tonight just in case..but there is a sponge feeling to them - probly just me.....
