Default Fat baggers wide tire kit

I'l looking at the wide tire kit for my 08 flhx and I was wondering if anyone has installed one ot these. I was wondering the quality of the rear fender it's fiberglass composite. I've never seen one of these kits in person only the picture on the website. If anyone has any info or a picture that sure would be helpful.

Thanks

I have done it, but it was on an 03. The trans/ primary is obviously different than your 08, but the swingarm, frame, etc is basically the same. The fender they sent me was pretty good quality. It fit pretty well for the most part and is reasonably stout. IIRC I needed to add a few caliper mounting shims between the frame and fender in a few spots to keep it from cracking when tightened, due to slight excess clearance. No big deal. I had them go ahead and install the flush plate frame at FBI after they painted the fender so that I didnt have to deal with it. The kit was very well done, and the instructions are pretty good. I had previously done a PM 250 Phat-tail kit on a softail so I wasnt new to this type of install. The FBI kit I did was a 200mm rear, can't speak for the larger ones. There is a small amount of grinding to be done on the frame in a few spots so that everything clears as the clearances are some kinda tight. You also want to make sure you get a rear wheel that is designed to work with that kit. Several manufacturers offer "FBI spec" rear hubs for their wheels. Shoot me a PM if you want more info. I definately have a bunch of pics as I documented the job for the customer, but I cant remember how detailed they were without going back and looking thru them on my other computer.

I did a FBI 200MM Fat Bagger kit on a 07 RG. I used a steel fender from Custom Valley because I didn't like the way the FBI fender looked.

I looked but do not have any detailed pics of the rear fender off the bike. when we did this kit the customer was running the bike without the bags so we ordered the fender with no filler strips. He has since had us put the bags on and it makes the lines of the fender look alot better with them on. I will look for a pic of the bike with the bags when I get a spare minute. I threw in a pic of the kit , so you could see what you were up against.

I'd suggest a 17" rear wheel vs an 18".
