I doubt they will do it. My experience is that they will only reinstate mileage on a new speedo from the factory (you have to order them, they tell the folks back at HD what mileage to put on it), then ship it to the dealer. I had a speedo / tach combo go bad, and I wanted to put the original speedo back on. They would not reinstate the mileage on it, and said I had to buy a new one. I didn't go for that and just put the old speedo back on. Problem comes at selling time..if you sell the bike, it can affect resale value because actual mileage is unknown.
Thanks for the replies.
This guage hasn't arrived at my house yet. I was told by the seller the odometer reads 0 miles and the unit is new. I went to my local harley dealer before I bought this one and they told me that they can't get a new one for my bike anymore.
Does anyone know the url address or phone number of the manufacturer of the guage? It's not harley is it?

I found the company that make the guage MAXIMA TECHNOLOGIES.It was on a lable attached to the guage in the pics on the ebay listing. They make guages for several guages sellers like sterwart warner, datcon, and a.s.t. I'm assuming that harley buys the guages from this company. They're located in Lancaster,Pa which is not far from York,Pa.
When I get my guage I'm gonna try to contact them to see if they can help me.
Sounds like a good plan. In my case, when I disclosed the situation when trading in my bike, it had an impact on resale value. I did keep track of the actual mileage, but because the speedo on the bike was incorrect, they had to tag it as TMO (total mileage unknown), and that definitely affected the resale value. If I had it to do ovver again, I'd pay the price for the new speedo and get the correct miles on the bike. Hopefully, the manufacturer of the unit will be able to help you. Good Luck!!!
The Speedo/tach combo comes with a cable to transfer mileage. It is very easy to do. I am not sure it can be redone if it has been transferred to already. I don't think you can. It keeps someone from tampering with the mileage. One wierd thing I found is that trip B can't be reset until after about 35 miles. I really like mine. Good luck.
I'm not sure if this can be done on the 03 rkc.It can be done on 2009-2011 from what I read.I hope your right because I really don't want to ship this unit out and wait months for it to come back. I'm gonna have the bike all apart to install an extreme cycle radio in the bike in a couple of weeks anyhow and would like to get all of the mods done at one time while the weather is cold.
