I was working on the bike today - installed my new crash bar and the Fullsac dual conversion. Everything went fine....But, when I went for a short test ride and came home to park the bike, I realized that my neutral light was not working.
I've owned several Harley's and never had an issue with the neutral switch. Anyone had an issue with the Neutral Switch going bad?
It is on top of the transmission. Take it out and clean it off with brake cleaner, sometimes they get dirty and the ball does not make contact. It is only a metal ball with a spring that completes the circuit to ground. Mine has acted up a couple of times.
You probably just dislodged or damaged the wire going to the neutral switch.
As jeepster09 said, it's on top of the trany just below where you working on the rear cylinder exhaust port.
