just bought a 2001 ultra with 10k mi. don't know what service has been done at this point. I will do the 10k service but does it need brake flush and also front fork fluid change?
thanks
I'm not sure what was recommended in 2001, but my 2009 service list says to flush the brake fluid every two years. This is a time maintenance not a mileage one.
I would go ahead and flush it.
I changed the fork fluid on mine just for the fun of it. If your bike is as easy to change as mine was, I'd go ahead and do that too just so you'll know it's at the right level and it's clean.
You'll be surprised how dirty the fork oil will be when you change it. Almost makes me want to do it every oil change. Notice I said ALMOST..lol I was surprised at how much more responsive my front end was after I did it too. I would definitely suggest changing them both. Neither are hard to do
