Default 103" Stage I or Stage II on a 2009 FLHRC

The 2009 doesn't have a catalytic converter. If I install the Stage II I get the cam but gain a catalytic converter. The Stage I, no cam but no converter.
TIA for any comments/advice.

You can get the stage II kit without having to change to a catalytic exhaust. There are "street legal" and "race only" kits. You want the "race only".

Agreed, I just had the SE Stage II 103 Race kit installed. It does not come with an exhaust. 85HP 105TQ.

Will it be covered by warranty?

That's a question for the company you have your warranty service contract with- look over your contract.

in most cases any common mods ( like a "stage 1") violate 3rd party warranties- the extended warranty is not from Harley-Davidson, it's from some other company that gives the dealer a slice to pimp for them.

If warranty is not a concern ( ie expired), then pick a nice package whether H-D's 103 or a 107 from fuel moto or other vendor, there are lots of specialty shops that can build to your needs

remember in hot road world it's:

How Fast

How Long

How Much

you get to pick 2

If you are looking for performance, the dealer is probably not the first place to go.

Purchased a stage I from day one at the dealer, skipped the stage II, and went straight to the stage III, man I love it, wish I did this 10 years ago when I bought the bike!

Default just use your stock header

I did the stage 2 kit at first and used my stock catless head pipe. no point putting the cat on and causing back pressure and adding heat to the system. the next year I changed the heads to mva's 10.5:1 pistions and vance and hines power duel and monster rounds 100 hp 107 tq
