Question for you all. I am wanting a project... I have a good friend, him and his wife are selling their bikes because he is disabled and cannot ride anymore. he was a motor mechanic for a large local police department for many years and I've known him over 20 years, so I know how these bikes were maintained. hers is a 97 Dyna, Mikuni carb, 12,000 ORIGINAL miles, nice shape, lowered, LePerra seat, saddlebags. His is a 99 FLHTP, 60,000 miles, decked out like a police bike with scanner, siren and markings. Its a 99 with the Marelli FI. I can buy both for around 10 or 11 grand. My plan was to sell the Dyna and keep the Electra Glide to ride to work and fix up. I should be able to get _____? for the Dyna. Thanks for your input..
evo dynas 6-7K around here.
Guys ask more, but they sit on craigslist forever
suggestion, sell the flhtp and keep the dyna. ( assuming you already have a bagger)
dynas are fun and light with good power to weight ratio
the 99 has the old brakes, the MM, the first year TC motor with pinion bearing and cam bearing issues. possibly interesting electrical system. poor performing heads... cam bolt shearing off ( pre 9/28/98 motors)...
