I was riding with a group of guys last weekend. While making a stop for lunch, one of the dudes asked about my bike and the PCIII. Told him the bike ran great, and that I especially loved the rev limiter bump to 6,200 rpms. At that point I received a several blank stares and puzzled looks. It seems none of them ever tag their rev limiter even with the stock setting.
Is it just me or does that sound odd to you?
Hell, I bang the limiter in my car almost every time I drive it.
FYI With the higher PCIII setting I no longer reach the limit.
I hit it once. My daughters boyfriend has a Street Glide with V&H power duals and no baffles. To keep from hurting my ears, I have to beat him away from a traffic light because he always wants to race (even though he loses all the time. He has an 88" with a PCIII and still can't beat my stock 96"). Anyway, one time I wasn't paying attention and he beat my reaction time. My mistake by trying to run anyway. Should have just sat still for a minute and let him go. Anyway, because I couldn't hear my bike at all, I hit the limiter pretty hard in second gear. Couldn't even tell by the sound, only by the way the bike reacted.
First day i got my bike i did a few times riding it home...Was 19 out and i was creeping at 55mph...then i was like fug it and started hittin gears probably harder than i should have...she cut out a few times lol
