This is the way I done my 12" MB. I removed all but 4" of the factory wiring cover. First I done the left side. Run two pieces of string thru the bars. Split the wires into two pulls, six wires at a time I think. Went right thru. Then the right side. I run three pieces of string thru the bars to pull with. Pull the TBW wires first. Then split the control wires into six wires and pulled each one separate. I used no lube. I used tape to attach the wires to the string. I put tape on the wires were they would be at the 90 degree bend on the bars as not to have a rub point. I used no tape on the rest of the wires as there are no sharp bends to cause a rub place. Where the wires come out at the bottom I put some of the factory wire cover back on so the wires wouldn't rub there either. Took 20-30 min to wire both sides up. This was my second set doing as I learned from doing one set which took half a day and a lot of cursing.
I just pulled the wires on my 10 inch monkey bars last Saturday on a 2010 road glide.
Took about 5 hours. An hour to take bars off.
Pulled green plug out and cut it out of the loop.
Cut the ends off the controls left about 3 inches of wire. Cut factory sheathing off. Slipped wires into heat shrink. Shrank it. Black tape on 2 inches on pull chain. Dropped chain through left side dish soap for lube, push / pull. About 5 minutes.
Dropped chain from center of bar up right side. 1 end out tbw end, 1 end out control hole.
Dish soap, pull/ push controls, 5 minutes.
Dishsoap on tbw, Pull / push tbw, tight, pull slowly, felt it stops still not through looped chain around my hand for no slip
Pulled in short burst, felt slip and bam, wires through
Total pull time, 20 minutes. About and hour an half to strip and solder all wires. Wrapped each wire in heat before soldering. Shrank each one.
Then wrapped whole bundle in electrical tape.
About 2 hours to reinstall as i could not get the fairing to reinstall on front hooks and had to take out headlights to get it to snap on.
Started it up, everything worked. Cutting the plugs off and eliminating the green plug made this and easy install.
