I was going to make a left turn into a parking lot from a street with a turning lane. The on comming traffic was about a block away so I had a nice opening. I slowed down and just started into the turn when another Harley that was waiting to turn left from a parking lot on the right side of the street takes off like a bat out of hell and cuts me off. I had to hit the breaks hard and ended up half in the driving lane and half in the turning lane. The dumb a$$ didnt even see me until he was in front of me just like I'd expect from a cage. So now I have to push my ride backwards to get out of the driving lane because of the on comming traffic. I know the world is full of idiots and sometimes its me thats the idiot but this really ticked me off. I guess I expect this from cars and trucks but I'd like to think other riders look around better than that. A good lesson learned for me. NO ONE SEE'S YOU, NOT EVEN OTHER RIDERS!! Never expect another rider to look out for you. Its getting more dangerous all the time in todays fast paced world. Be careful out there!
Ya I'll take a little cheese if you got some. Just wanted to vent and remind others not to trust other bikes. I ride with my side spots on all the time.
I know as many impatient dick heads on bikes as I do in cars, it doesn’t surprise me at all.
and I’m about to give up riding in large groups also. Too many newbee idiots there too.
stopped doint that years ago--I make a donation and leave usually in the opposite direction
LOL! Yeah, me too. But, if there's a poker run I want to do, because it's for a good cause or whatever, I usually do it by hitting the next to the last stop first (because the last stop is almost always where the run begins, for anyone that doesn't know) and so on. Very rarely have I run into the crowd at any of the stops. We're usually passing each other in opposite directions somewhere along the route. I get some strange looks every now and then, though! Mostly, it's the donate and ride on these days, however.
