If you had to choose between the Ultra or Flat top is the appearance of the flat top worth the wind protection?

Thanks

Yes but I only use it for long trips I can justify it to a stranger. My riding buddy's still call me the "Mad Hatter" when I show up the first day of a trip. But when their heads are still foggy the next morning from their brains rattling around from the last days ride they say that they need to get one. But they never do. So that my give you the idea of how good it works for me and how funny it my look as well. On long trips I go for function over form.

With that information I'll wait for sure. I'm really impressed with how involved you are with the members of HDF. That speaks of good customer service.

I definitely want polycarbonate for the impact resistance-an added safety factor. I'm happy enough with the stock windshield so that waiting isn't an issue.

I am 5'10" with a 43" inseam and the stock seat on a '12 Limited. LRS 9" Ultra is the only way to go.

I haven't noticed much difference between the ultra and flattop up front personally. But if you ride two-up much, the flattop is the better choice for your passengers comfort. The flattop is the best choice at reducing turbulence for the gal sitting behind you bar none.

Aircraft Quality means materials approved by the FAA for windshield & window replacement.

The materials must meet specific guidelines for deflection, scratch & impact resistance to be FAA certified. Certain chemical formulas for polycarbonate & acrylic do meet the FAA guidelines.

I recall that the manufacturer has to be FAA certified as well.

First ride with new LRS Flat Top yesterday. (200+ miles)
From a long-time 6'5" rider who had previously believed that all 65+ mph scenery from the Ultra was blurry... no more! Thank you LRS; the shield performed exactly as advertised.
