my opinion is first to find someone with them on and try them out, every body is different what works for one may not work for another and they have all sizes 13-14-16 ect and it is time consuming to do and expensive so be sure. it sucks when you put hundreds into a project only to find out your body hurts during riding because of the change.
IMO, best mod I did, get the manual and follow it. You can do them yourself. Get new Poly bushings and a new clamp for the bars. If you look around you can get all the stuff needed from differnet vendors. I saved some cash that way. You can roll the bars forward or back for the windshield. There is also spacers for the windshield if you want the bars a little further out. It is almost like power steering.
A)For me it handles better than it did with the stock bars. Slow speed tight turns are different but some adjustment to the bars would fix that.
B)Yes a shield will fit with bars if they aren't pushed forward to far.
