Default Your opinion please, slip-ons or apes

So first, I have to say my wife is awesome. She made a little bit of money coaching camps this summer, and she wants me to use some of that money to buy new slip-ons or apes for the bike. Yes, she actually wants me to.

Currently the only thing non-stock on the bike is a set of CVO SE Touring slip-ons I was allowed to use as a take-off from a family friend's bike since he wasn't using them. These sound just like stock but look a heck of a lot nicer IMO. However, I (and my wife) need some noise and can't modify the current slip-ons as they are not mine. And the bars... well... you know.

For slip-ons, I am wanting CFR (looks and sounds awesome). Apes would be Wild 1 16s, Magnum cables (much more comfortable, looks awesome). Eventually both will be done as funds allow.

So what would you choose?

i would go with the slip-ons. the apes do come in at a really close second, but the sound of these bikes with the stock mufflers sucks.

Apes do nothing for me, so an easy choice!

seeing that a handle bar swap (apes or not) is for comfort and functionality, not just looks/sound, I would go with new handle bars.... If the bike is more comfortable, I would enjoy that much more than the exhaust tone....

Thanks to all who have responded so far. I was leaning towards slip-ons as well as handlebars may be a good winter project, but I was waiting to see some opinions first.

If you already have a comfortable riding position with your bars then I would do pipes. If you're having back probs, shoulders ache, tingly hands, etc. then bars may make the overall ride more comfortable.
