Do what makes you feel good but rember when you try to get rid of it the resale value will be half of a harley. just my thoughts do what you want but I would not any harley for one. Guy at work bought one and I just don't care for the looks.
Your getting good advice from the guys here.
--You will catch your self saying "Its as good as a Harley; but its not"
--Not many dealers
--Not much after market stuff
--Bad resale
--Everybody will look at the bike and think "Its not a Harley"
Do what makes you happy but I could never do that
I was looking at a Victory Cross Country, and I must say, I'm impressed. Thinking about trading my '12 Road King for one. The only thing I didn't much care for is the short windshield, got a bit of buffeting from it. Other than that, I can't find anything wrong with it. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Road King. After doing a stage one ( $$$ ) it almost has the power of a stock Victory. Help me out here, I know this is not the best place to ask this, but, give me some REAL good reasons not to do it.
How about because you haven't really ridden your Road King. It's a '12!! What have you had it, a whole 6 months?? Why don't you put some miles on it? Or are you more into buying motorcycles than actually riding them?
Sorry to say this....but I can't help being offended by somebody who already owns a 2012 Road King, asking me what do I think about him trading for new Victory???? Manufacturer be damned! You sound like a bored and spoiled rich kid looking for attention. There's way too many people in this country struggling....shame on you.
Agreed ! I feel offended too when they come on here and ask me what I think of some other wannabe bike. I think...where the hell are they comm'in from ! Sounds like some puke who bought a Harley by mistake !

I always tell people to do what makes them happy it's your money. At least move up not backwards in your choice. There are other better touring makes and models out there for the same money
Well maybe your right......I got a good idea, why don't you cottle this poor confused lad and spend some time helping him with his crisis. Send him some spec's and photos and links that compare pro's and con's, between the two bikes. Do his research for him
Go on sport......go the extra mile.....give of your self and help out this confused guy.......I'm sure you'll feel much better about yourself. Trolls like this OP have needs too.
I own a Victory Kingpin. It is not a touring but anyways, here is my opinion. Keep the RK! You will kick yourself. Sure Victory makes a near flawless V-Twin, but you will always look over your shoulder while you are at a gas station alone and a loud rumble of 5-10 harleys come rumbling in behind you..... Victory's have no soul. They are a japanese bike with "Made in America" stickers....
Sorry, nothing compares to my SG and I will NEVER go back to anything but a Harley! I have been to the other side, and the grass is burnt and spray painted green....Dont believe the hype!
I test rode a Cross Country Tour, it has the bigger windshield and lowers. I could have lit a cigarette behind that windshield with a Bic lighter.
Sweet bike for sure and it fit me physically a lot better than the Harley. I felt cramped when I got back on my Harley.
But it vibrated in the seat under any acceleration at all, even just going up hill.
The not very many dealers was a turn off, but the not much in aftermarket parts would have saved me some major cash.
