Another WTF
What a bunch of crap! These ***-Hats really aught to know what they are doing to their reputation here in the WI! That is one dealership that I'll avoid like the plague and never go in there for any parts or service again!
I've really got to tell you, I hope you pushed really hard on these guys and didn't back off too easily. If not, it may be a squeaky wheel issue that you can push on and get this resolved. Go up the food chain necessary...these dealership franchise owners are deathly afraid of bad press and the parts and service managers all know this as do most of us...their customers! It's time for these folks to begin treating us like a customer and not their effing paycheck.
I'm telling you...GO UPSTREAM on this if you like to get this resolved. If you sent a well thought out e-mail to the service manager and cc'd the General Manager and franchise owner...YOU WILL GET A POSITIVE RESPONSE!! That's exactly what I did when I had a VERY challenging situation at "The House". The owner, John Sheehe, saw to it that I was taken care of...IMMEDIATELY! While I have not gone back there based on principal of what happened...I will say that I was taken care of! Thanks John!!
The key here is that you can't get lazy on this...you have to push...sometimes very, very hard!

You paid for their tech to go to school on your bike and get a failing grade. Fuel pressure and charging system test were written down? Make them get the "hard Copy" and show you his test results. Like Cheesehead said, go up the chain of command, everybody has a boss. You should get your money back minus the deductable on your warranty. Call HD Customer Service and lodge a complaint. A few years back I had an issue with a dealer on the road who made me pay for work that I knew was covered. Motor Company issued credit that was good at my home dealer.
I agree with what cheesehead has said. I only take my bike to Hals if it is something I can not or do not want to do. I have a few friends that are tech there and have been there for ever, seems as they do not have big change overs like the House does every few years. I also have heard Milwaukee HD has some better techs now (guess the new manager is the one from house) but have a buddy who has had a some issues as of late with them (he is letting them try to fix the problem though so give them credit for that). I would take this issue up the chain and let them know about this thread. I remember reading a thread a week or two ago that was about good dealers that a guy had on a trip. From my experiences I have had better luck with breakdowns while on a trip than I do when I go to the dealerships around here, which in my mind is backwards. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
spu·ri·ous/ˈspyo͝orēəs/Adjective: 1.Not being what it purports to be; false or fake: "spurious claims".
2.(of a line of reasoning) Apparently but not actually valid: "this spurious reasoning results in nonsense".
Sorry, coming in here late but why is Labor being charged for a warranty claim, and you must have a very extended warranty? Is the starter covered???? I'd be talking with the owner about this, no charge for a miss diagnosis.
2 times for warrentie work neither time was the problem corrected, they even told me if it came in again i would have to pay for diagnostics.they haven't seen 1$ from me since, hals or racine for warentie. anything else its the indy. they had a bunch of service people quit on em in the last few months even the manager,so... their mostly new,and I'm guessing overworked and underpaid.
drop off the bike this .morning ,starter will be replace, + the clutch hub is damages ,will also be replace , no parts available so bike will be there till next week .plugs are the right one for 103,i cant get my money back . from my 1st visit . so i guess i will never spend money on Puke's harley Davidson in Kenosha .after this one. . so guys be aware of what you trying to get fix on this place. im very ,very disappointed . After buying $23k + 20k+ upgrade on this bike . this could be my last Ultra. Thanks. for reading
