OK, here's the latest guys. It was a bent clutch cable ...HUH? Really? An external, braided steel cable, bent. HTF does that happen?? Anyway, its all good. Covered by warranty bought a new rear tire and will bring home new brake pads and do them myself...drum roll please LOL
The "Throw out bearing" is the ball and ramp inside the trap door. Nothing to do with adjusting the clutch. The EVO's use the "zero lash, the half turn back" on the allen ajduster on the clutch. Twin Cams on the other hand should be hand tightened with the allen by finger until it bottoms out. Stop there. Get your 11/16" spark plug socket, hold the jam nut still, then insert the allen through the socket while holding it in place, and back off 1/4 turn.then, holding the allen in place, use a wrench fitting the hex on the plug wrench and tighten making sure the allen stays in place. The further out you go with the allen ajduster, the more the clutch plates are seperated. If the 1/4 turn doesnt work, you may need a new clutch spring. I hope this works for you

Bent cable???Really? Thats a new one. I have on the other hand, had a brand new cable collapse inside the adjuster, and had to keep ajdusting until I ran out of adjustment after two days. High dollar stainless braided Diamond back. I returned to my local HD, and they warranted it for me, then the one they warranted and replaced it with, did the same thing. It was pulling the inner windings through the adjuster and there was "bunching" at the top of the cable adjuster. All the tecks at Cajun HD besides one, said they had never seen that before, as neither had I, but yeah, it happens. I went back to stock, good ol black HD cable, and no probs pulling my Baker 9plate with my Jims 120"TC, 160HP beast. Good luck to ya
Looking at your center photo, the one with the allen wrench in the adjuster bolt, it appears you have completely bottomed out that bolt. Mine has never gone in that far. With that T handle wrench you may not be feeling the FIRST resistance when screwing that bolt in. Mine sticks out almost an inch when properly adjusted. If you ever want to get involved with this again, you should be able to turn that allen bolt with your fingers using no tool until it hits the release mechanism. When you can no longer turn the bolt clockwise with fingers only, THAT is the point from which the 1/2 to 1 turn out adjustment is made.
I would almost swear that my clutch cable is too long.
My HD Tech said that I had a faulty cable. The reason it felt like it was too long is because when it was manufactured there was a "bunched up" wad of cable on one end, rather the sleeve was bunched up causing enough friction inside the cable itself that it was binding the cable and that was what was causing the cable not to release ... I'm not making this real clear but bottom line is they had the same problem with some braided steel cables they installed on some of our police bikes. So, I'm not such a dumb@55 s after-all, well, I am but.. LOL. Anyway, it was all warranty work and I had them put on a new tire while I was at it.

Did the dealer at least give you a discount on the tire for all of the trouble?
