A little internet research will divulge that 20-50 engine oil and 75-140 gear oil are about the same viscosity, the rating numbers are different to avoid inadvertent mis-application. The additive packages are considerably different and are NOT interchangeable.
I am another Red Line heavy shockproof fan, though I found little difference between it and Spectro Six speed. All of the other lubes mentioned have made neutral more difficult to achieve, at least in MY transmission. I currently am using Red Line 20-60 in the engine and it is working well. I will try Motul 10-60 next time because of the easier starts year round. Currently using Motul 10-60 in the primary and it is satisfactory. I believe it causes less disk stickiness than a 20W anything (when cold). If Red Line ever offers a 10W-60 engine oil, I will be very happy to give it a try, as my experience with all of their products is very favorable. I don't keep my scooter in the living room so however the various lubes smell is of no concern to me.
2011 road glide custom 103. I have been using redline in all three holes.
Someone told me Harley was not doing warranty work on trans with shockproff. Has anyone had any problems with warranty ? What do I have to do to maintain warranty in good standing. I change oil myself and have a indy do some work
My Harley-Davidson Dealer's service department ONLY uses Redline V-Twin gear oil with Shockproof. It may look like pepto bismol and smell like day old what-ever, but let me tell you something,,, it works!
I had a Taurus SHO and the only trans fluid that would stop gear clash/grind during shifts was Red Line MTL. Put it (the vtwin version) in my rkc at 1k and immediately was able to find neutral which was previously near impossible. Red line in all 3 holes and happy so far at 3500.

Not to steel the post but my 103 with the same stuff I put in my 88 sounds so much quieter on the 103 than 88 RKC has and the RKC with more years and has less miles less than my limited!!! What the frech Toast !!!!!
i've used redline shockproof heavy in my transmissions and B&M Trickshift auto trans fluid in the primary for years and it eliminates most of the clunk when going into first and the trans shifts about as good as a metric bike. that's saying a lot being as our harley transmissions seem almost like a tractor transmission. the shifts are really much nicer with the Trickshift/primary and Redline Shockproof heavy/trans.
