FYI, in California, the apes can be 6" ABOVE you shoulders which is much higher than many other states that I ride through (Utah as an example which is 15" above the seat which makes stock bars on some bikes illegal). But, this thread was about Ontario, Canada in the first place. SJ Ron

I realize it would have been eeasier to let him look in my bags. I had NOTHING to hide. Just seemed like he was invading my rights by doing so. I was breaking the same laws as my dad NONE yet he pulled me. no taillight out, no speeding just a "random roadside check." Live and learn
A search brought up this article. It seems it may not be the cops that are the bad apples. It's the citizens and councillors making a fuss which then trickles down the ranks to the cops on the streets. Then they're the ones that take the heat from the bikers. Looks like they're just doing what they're told.....in this instance anyway.
Im 5-8 and running 14s.....if I go by a squad car I sir up straight until I go past.......14s are shoulder height.....I can see going 16s someday which is why I put longer wiring, clutch and brake line lengths.

Disputes with a cop can never end good for you on the side of the road. Resolution is done in the Courtroom.
