Sales guy went over a few things on the bike and asked if I had any question, I said "no, I'm good to go". I got on the bike and I couldn't start it - took me a little while to remember to check the kill switch.
The radio has an internal battery that keeps your settings for a few minutes but if you disconnect the battery for about an hour your radio will lose it's settings. Also the standard ecu reset procedure is to disconnect the battery for a while.
My radio seems to only lose the clock settings but retains the memories. My ECM certainly doesn't lose the map I loaded months ago.
I only use the kill switch if I'm parking on up hill or down where I have to hold the front brake while bike is running in gear but then turning off the ignition I turn it back on to make it easy to start, but my wife always use the kill switch and every time I've to move it I say some bad words before I start it. On normal surface I always put in neutral turn off the ignition but wife again is opposite .
