Sometimes even I am amazed by some of the crap that some Harley dealers tell their unsuspecting customers and actually expect them to believe it.
You know like "If you don't let us do the maintenance on your new bike, it will affect your warranty from the factory".
Or another popular load they will sometimes tell customers is that "If you use anything except Harley Synthetic oil you will void your warranty".
Just recently I have heard that the local Harley shop had hired a new Service Adviser or whatever they are calling them. You know, the guy that writes up the order to service your bike when you take it in. Anyway this new guy is asking everyone if they have changed out the air in their tires to the new nitrogen they are offering for touring bikes only. For only $9.50 he says they will change out your H2O (water) for N (nitrogen). I am guessing this guy is working on commission.
Anybody else got some good ones?
Brother bought a 2012 Ultra Classic, dealer told him if he installed Rineharts it would void the warranty. Sold him Vance & Hines for $800.00. Seems quieter than with the stock pipes.
over zealous sales hype, bullshit, and down right lying is not exclusive to Harley dealerships....... a fool and his money are easily parted.....or something like that
