I have $4900 into the 1996 Softail in my sig pic and that includes buying the original basket case bike.. I totally scored on the bike purchase and did all the work myself so I saved a grip of cash no doubt...
Motor is even built (89" stroker) and has tons of power..
Still early on my current RK, under $2k. My last bike was between $5-$6k. I don't plan any serious mods to my RK. Like it pretty much the way I bought it.
I thought I learned my lesson with my 07 FLSTF, heck no and $5K at least.
I think I am near $3K now with my Roadking and I have not done the WO 515 bars, HD Aux lamps and head lamp upgrade, nor bullet turn signal rear and lay down license plate, or MSG TD.....OMG
What else could I do? Mono tube front shocks, Ohlins rear, true track, hammock seat, wards parts works engine fan, chrome front forks, powder coat frame red, Nd then custom red and white old school paint job.....
