you shouldn't 'feel' any difference between abs and non abs brakes unless you've locked your wheels. if your brakes are 'mushy' or 'disconnected', then i would think that there is something else going on with them.

I did not want ABS, I have heard both good and bad things about it but figured I rode years without, why pay an extra 1000+ for the couple times you may use it. I bought bike with only the cruise package and then bought the security unit from Surdyke for 324.00 and installed it myself and married it to the bike, then took to the dealer to have fobs programmed.
Didn't have abs but did have security on my 07 SG and obviously I'm still alive and it was fine. However on my new one I will definetly have both. I think its worth the price.
A++ on both. 8 weeks ago I totaled my Dyna trying to do an emergency stop in traffic. The front wheel locked and dumped me n my wife; she broke an ankle. Luckily that was all of the injuries. I think I had room to stop before hitting the @ss of a Suburban, and if I had ABS I may have stopped in time. The new RKC has both. Also an advanced rider education course is scheduled for this Spring.
