You will have to experiment some because riding style, body size makes and helmets make a big difference. All these suggestions being posted don't take the buffet away, they just move it somewhere else, usually forward. I found that windshields raise the speed of the buffet hitting me in the chin. What was anoying at 55 mph was shifted to 65 mph with a 3 inch taller windshield. Anther two inches got me to 75 mph. Personally my new lower fairing don't feel like they change the buffet at all. But my feet are warmer in the winter.
Good luck, it takes a little while to find that sweet spot, but it's fun looking.
