Looking for a better clutch spring then stock
A lot of people say to get 37871-98a spring
Just wondering what others are using or good setup
With out having the lever be hard as hell to pull
My bike is 06 flh with 95",cams,head work
102hp 110tq
What do you think?
I run that spring and a barnett extra plate clutch on my 1990 with similar stats. Has held up fine for over a year so far and the bike is no stranger to holeshots, burnouts, and power shifting. Had a friend run the same setup as me in his '04 with a 95" kit also for 6+ years with no trouble. The spring is noticeable stiffer than stock though. The spring is like $50 and the clutch is $200.
The only way youre going to get a good setup without increased pull effort is to run a variable pressure clutch, like the AIM. One of those with youre stock clutch plates and spring would be sufficient. Costs somewhere in the range of $250-$300 if i recall correctly.
92K 02 ultra and my stock clutch spring and plates doing great. I did put the better ramp in to make it easier by MRC or someone. Now in I think it was 06 when Harley went to the easier pull clutch went to a weaker spring. So just about anything will be better even the older spring.
