moving the bars back can cause minor but irritating problems...the mirrors may not adjust enough to see behind you and the switches will be farther down under the bars as opposed to being level where you can see them...in the old days you could just turn the grips up some, but you can't do that anymore with the internal handlebar wiring....if you don't move them much it should be ok..I just thought I would let you know so that you can check it out before you tighten everything back up and find you don't like it..

Good advice mrfikser, thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to get started on moving them this weekend.

Bringing this to the top cause I have to do the same thing only move the bars and inch or so FORWARD. How did this go with loosing just 2-allen bolts?

Works just the same. Loosening the rear bolts should be all it takes to move the bars a bit. There's a vid on youtube describing the switch removal - search for H-D switch removal.
Also when you move the bars do not forget to also re-adjust the grips and switches. Sometimes I've had to also loosen the banjo on the brake reservoir and/or bend the brake line a bit. If you loosen the banjo put some pressure on the lever - it will keep air from entering while you adjust the line and re-tighten.

+1

I have (soon to be 'had') this issue with my 2011 SG. The stock bars just don't cut it for taller riders. New bars are the only cure...
