Default First oil change question in SG..

Changing my oil for the first time in my 06 SG today, along with all other fluids. Shes got between 600 and 700 miles on it.. Didnt have time to get the 1000 on it with the weather being -3 degrees lately and snow, and going to Daytona in a week and a half. Anyways, using Mobil 1 Vtwin 20/50 in the cankcase. I got wondering about "some" of the dino HD oil still in the system when I do the oil/filter change to the synthetic. Is this ok? Will they mix? Didnt see a scavenger method for touring bikes like some guys do on the softails, so thought I would ask. Probably a silly question and worrying for nothing I know.. lol Thanks guys.

I think you'll find that most dealers do the upgrade to synthetic at 1K with a simple drain and fill. I wouldn't worry about it.

I would worry more about tightening the drain plug and if the o'ring might leak

just change no worry. I have drained oil from crank case(use to be a plug?) to get every last drop out. now I dont worry about it. especially if you are pretty much ontop of oil changes.

I always let the bike run for a minute or so after I get off the bike to scavenge any remaining oil from the crankcase. Not sure if it does any good, but, it's fun to get off the bike while it still idles. There'll always be a little left over - that's why I only add 3 1/2 qts (Redline 20W-50) to the oil tank when changing.
