Go for the '09 and up for the frame and wheels; the 103 isn't a big enough difference to justify limiting your search to 2012's (or 2011's with the optional 103). '09's and '10's are the best "bang for the buck" IMO.

Also keep in mind that '11 up, the SE compensator is stock.

I have an 07 and a 12, I have ridden an 09. The 09 rides noticeably better than the earlier bike but the drivetrain feels quite similar. The 12 feels like a completely different bike altogether. Everything works more harmoniously, the torque off the line, the power band, 6th gear is usable. It's just a great bike, where the earlier bikes were just good bikes. If get the 12 if you could afford it / find a good deal on one.

I had an06 Street Glide An upgrade Last Fall To A 11 Street Glide With A 103 Got a Killer Deal,Sold My 06 in 10 days an found the 11.It has True Duals Sreaming Eagle Heavy Breather.oved My 06 But This11 is Awsome The Wide Back Tire New Frame.My Wife Always Says How much Better This One Rides.It Rides Handles So Much Better,The 103 is the nuts Good Tourqe When Rideing Double An such a blast when solo.The EconomySucks There are Great Deals Out There I know I found one.

I have a 07 with the the SE stage 2 103 kit. I love it I paid 14500 for it. If I'd do it all over I'd try to get a newer one with frame update and fat tire. You can always build up any motor.
