There are about a dozen variations of this mod in the DIY thread. I mounted that same Radio Shack switch in my inner fairing to the right of my tach. Others have used the CVO power lock switch. You could also use a odometer reset button with the rubber boot on it.

There is also a company now selling a universal remote already wired up with a push button - just use the 'learn' function on your door and mount the remote & switch anywhere on your bike that you can drill a 1/4" hole.

Could you give us a hint on the "already wired up" company?

A little pricey at $59, but if you're no good with a soldering iron it's worth it.

I didn't see a 9v at Radio Shack but they do have a 5.1 v and a 3.9 volt zener diodes. You could put them in series with a resistor and get 9v. Just remember that zener diodes are connected opposite of normal diodes ( cathode (marked end) connects to the positive lead). The diodes listed were about $1 each.

Thanks, yeah def a little pricey @ 60-80 depending on what switch you want.

Still using key chain mounted mini remote, and don't have enough issues hitting the button in my pocket yet to spend that much.
