Default Windshield Help Please

I am seeking a little assistance with information about an additional screen for my 2007 FLHRC.

Firstly does anyone have any information on how the quality of the Memphis Shades 21" screen compares with the OEM HD screen.

Also when size is quoted, where is it measured from. I think that the Memphis Shades quotes the 21" as a replacement, but the overall height of my standard screen is about 24".

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Paul

I cut mine down also, very easy. I removed 2 1/2" and the cut looks professional. I Just follow the DIY instructions.

I have handled the Memphis Shades windshields at my dealer and found them to be of good quality. I'm not sure about how they are measured though.

I recently replaced a cracked windshield on my Road King with one from Clearview. I'm really impressed with the quality. They are slightly thicker than the HD screen. My particular screen is comparable to the HD "mid-low", which is two inches shorter than standard. I particularly like the slight recurve at the top of the windshield - it helps deflect wind higher and allows the use of a shorter screen.

I'm not Pastor John....but "recurve" describes the way the top of the shield is slightly curved back toward the front of a bike. You can see it in his pic if you look closely. If you look at my sig pic closely (my bike has a Clearview +2") you can see the slight sweep right about where you see the car through the windshield.

Memphis Shades shields are measured on a RK shield from the 'circle' about the headlight to the top of the shield. I had replaced my stock HD shield that was a 19" with a MS 17". The MS was at least 25% thicker material and cost about 1/2 the proce of a new HD shield. I recently sold the entire windshield assy on ebay. I am converting the bike back to a EG and bought another MS shield for the fairing.

How did you finish off the edge? I cut down my w/s and got a fairly smooth job, but am confused about the best way to finish the job.
