noticed a small crack on the rear cylinder header of my '07 Road King... already ordered a true dual pipe from Fullsac, any reason in the meantime I shouldn't be riding?
easy to weld but DO NOT weld with it on the bike ( blow the ecm).
just take it off, take it in.
this crack may cause damage to the exhaust valve/valve seat, so don't ride a bunch until it's fixed even if temporary like some kinda fix-it stuff from pepboys.
the Y pipe can be stressed and cracked by owners hammering on the mufflers when changing slip ons.
I've had 2 crack at the y joint, at the bottom of the rear pipe. I think they crack do to the shake from the rubber hanger mounts. The header pipes are solidly mounted but you can jiggle the mufflers. After a while something cracks.,,
ok, thanks for the input guys, hopefully new pipe will be here in day or two so I'll just stay off the girl until then, she'll probably enjoy the rest.
