For those of you that run the Fuelmoto header, how did you get the heat shield on the X pipe to fit? Beat the heck out of it till it lays flat against the pipe? For those who don't know, the hose clamp brackets hold the shield off the aftermarket header. Looks like crap.
Update: I went back and tried adjusting them again and they fit okay...As good as HD heat shields are going to fit. 2-1-2 Pipe is still world class!

I didn't have a problem with mine. Kept all of my shields loose until it was mounted and all fasteners tightened. Started with the front shield, lined it up and worked my way back.
Don't overlook FullSac. They offer an exchange of your stock header that has been modified and ceramic coated, it's called the Sport Pipe. Cost is very reasonable compared to aftermarket headers and performance is right up there with the others. I went this route on my 13' RG and saved a lot of $$. They also offer their own design of headers for slightly more $ but the performance difference is negligible. Talk to Steve (owner) at FullSac. He can give you an education on exhaust. I've learned over the years that most of the claims from exhaust companies is a bit over rated to say the least and way overpriced !
