Default Slip On Pipes

Just bought a 2013 Road Glide Classic, wonder what the best sip on are for it.

"Best" is subjective .....
Look and listen to as many different bikes as you can,
then base your decisions on your likes and dislikes.

Everyone has their own opinion of 'whats best' for themselves......

yep, go to a bike night or other event, see/hear what other guys are using- ask the owners about the slip ons and if the header is stock, modified or aftermarket.

some guys are on their 3rd or 4th sets of pipes...that gets spendy.

btw the phrase most often posted on the forums is:

" not too loud, deep rumble but really barks when I get on it "

other factors are;

do you wear a helmet, some helmets will resonate an annoying drone

do you tour? loud pipes are no fun 3 hours onto an 8 hour day with more 8 hour days to follow

got any hearing loss? triggering tinnitus is no fun

not a concern for you, but Guys who bought bikes with radios want to consider if they plan on hearing that radio

Exactly. I didn't want loud & screaming, so I went with V&H Monster Rounds. They have a nice deep growl that IMO sounds great, but still lets me hear the radio and not suffer hearing loss on long rides.

They say you should go to bike nights, etc. and find people with your setup and see what they sound like in person. I wasn't able to do that so I went to the V&H site and heard them there. Made my decision and sure enough, they actually sounded like they did on their site.

To answer the inevitable next question, NO, you don't need to make any other adjustments (tuner, etc.) when you just change out the slip-ons.

The best for me are the Rinehart 4" slip-ons.

I've only had experience with cycle shack and Khromewerks . The shacks are great, but loud. The KW 4" touring mufflers are deep an mellow, excellent power and workmanship .

I went through what you're going through - trying to find the "right" ones. I finally found the right ones for me. They are RCX-Haust by RC Components. They have a nice sound/rumble even with the catalytic converter still in. Again, that's my opinion. You need to find out who sells them and then listen to them on a bike with the cat. still in. They're about $400. They are louder than some of the more well known brands. Trying not to mention names, but PM me if you want know more about brands that I'm talking about. And later, if you decide to do a Stage 1 with new head pipe, they really sound good!
