Didnt answer my question... You OK with a toaster that doesnt make toast? If not you shouldnt be OK with the **** harley is putting put for 2014....
If I purchased a toaster that didn't make toast, I would take advantage of whatever avenue I am legally allowed to pursue. in the case of a toaster, that would be to go back to place of purchase and ask (not demand) a resolution, which would most likely be an exchange. A toaster is more cost effective to replace than to fix from manufacturer perspective. Same with a vehicle, if not performing as advertised, I would go to place of purchase, and ask for a resolution... and again, would become familiar with the laws should no resolution be offered. I also understand that the person on the other side of the counter did not manufacture the motorcycle, and my not yet be aware of solution to problem... i.e. it's not his fault. With shopping, comes risk....
A toaster does like one thing. If the primary function of whatever you bought didn't work then I'd understand people being so angry. But to be so angry over some small feature that is literally one (or three) in like 6000 features these bikes can perform is kinda I dunno...something. Like I don't really feel for ya. Sad to say but true in my case. Harley has always had issues with something every new model release. It just goes with the territory. Doesn't make it right, but it's reality. Myself, I don't try to change reality. I'm at peace with the way things are. And things are messed up in our HD 2014 world right now. It's pretty much expected and many, many people were warned. In short and it's been said before, don't buy a first year anything and you'll sleep better if perfection is your thing...
You know they are going to fix it. All you have to do is take a deep breath and wait it out. Sucks but you know they are having way deeper issues at the moment. Clutches, coolant, you know.
