I bought SE slipons off ebay for about $110 bucks. These were the "off road" version. They are much louder than stock. I put a PCIIIusb on on it and a K&N air filter in it. Runs and sounds great.
You might want to check out B&E Max Performance slip-ons. They have sound clips on their web site and there are also some YouTube before & after videos if you do a search. Louder than stock, but not too loud, especially when cruising. No cat/header mods needed, and the price is right (well under $200 with shipping). They re-baffle dealer take-offs, so there could be some minor cosmetic flaws. Best of all, they look just like stock mufflers.
I have a set of the B&E mufflers also and they sound pretty good. I am looking for something different than the stock look so KockWerks SuperSavers are looking in my direction. I have heard good and they bark when you need to and mellow cruising
So I guess this more venting for me. I boight my first Harley a month ago. 2010 RKC. And I must say I LOVE everything about it...except for the stock sound. I found some screaming eagle pipes on craigslist for $100 put them on this morning and I'm almost positive they sound exactly the same as stock if not a little quieter. I guess I'm just mad at myself for not properly doing my research and being so impatient. I know you get what yoy pay for but what do you guys recommend? I'm looking for slip ons that aren't outrageously priced.
The slip-ons you bought might be off a SE(CVO) bike.In my experience with them, they are quieter than stock on my 09 catless Classic.

Well guys, I think I decided on the bassani megaphones. I'm really digging the look and the sound (not only from youtube videos and clips on the web, but also what I heard on a bike in town)
