Have a 2013 street glide with dresser duals and v&h twin slash rounds. Idling it sounds ok but seems the left side has more of a rumble to it than the right. I would have thought since the right, back pipe is shorter it would be louder. Not my case. Going down the road at 55mph, you turn your head and listen to each side and the right side sounds almost like it has a stock muffler on it and the left has a deep sound to it. Any one notice this issue. What did you do to correct this.
I put the stock, cat removed, header back on and it still sounds the same, sickly on the right and good on the left. Even the wife asked why the right side sounds diff. than the left. Called V&H and they are clueless. ????
I noticed when I removed the stock baffles on the factory mufflers the right had a diff. baffle than the left. Anyone know why that is?
I'm just wondering that if by chance the mufflers were used when you put them on Glider that somebody might have fooled with them??? If they were new then forget this post.

Many have used different baffle sizes from one side to the other to balance the sound and back pressure.

Took both baffles out and they are identical. They were new mufflers from v&h also. Why does the factory mufflers have different baffles in each muffler.
Factory pipes have different baffles in them because of the crossover... the left side pipe is essentially an "overflow". most of the exhaust is going through the right side pipe.

Exactly! They are not true duals, but a hybrid system. I have SE slip-ons on my 2006 FLHX, and you can tell the difference in sound between right and left...clearly, more of the exhaust is exiting via the right muffler...doesn't bother me, can't tell from any distance away...

Mine is the opposite, the left side is louder than the right. Odd I suppose.

What Hotrodz_n_Harleyz says is true. The stock exhaust system is a 2-1-2 setup, where most of the exhaust flow is directed to the right side.
