Default Android File Transfer

Does anyone know if I can load a GPX file on my Android Samsung phone and then import it to the GPS. When I try to import from my phone I get a NAV file not found message. I have copied the GPX file to both phone and the phone SD card root directory using a USB connection. I also sent the file to the phone using a Bluetooth connection from my PC.

I kind of doubt it. The Bluetooth profile seems to indicate it is only for music audio files and cell phone use. Just wondering if anyone found a way to do this.

That's not going to work. Just put the gpx file on a USB stick and load it into the Nav unit.

There is a post here mentioning the Galaxy phone failure to be seen as a flash drive, and a suggested fix was to patch the phone. (play store).
When you plug the phone in, make sure it is set to "media" and not as "installer" (for the Galaxy S3).
This info is for plugged in, not BT.
The BT profiles are set for hands free phone and for stereo music control only, not file transfer.
You may have to dig around your phone's menus and see if there's a setting for how the phone is to behave when plugged in to a computer, and set the default to behave as a drive.
You did not mention your phone model.
Make sure the Boom can import the GPX file from a USB drive to see if the issue is something else. If it can't import from a USB stick it wont work with a phone either.

That's exactly how WB is supposed to work. Turn off WB if you don't want to be notified of weather events.

Bottom line is stay old school, use good old paper maps and enjoy the ride.

Well I can honestly say that I do it the old school way until I absolutely need the GPS. I've also used it to record my trip. I wish the bike recorded the information without the GPS having to be running.
