Our HOG chapter had its end of year ride today. My bike is a 2010 FLHTK and I use the CB during chapter rides. Today, I had the opportunity to communicate with the CB from a 2014 FLHTK. I was near the front and he was riding sweep.
Once he properly set his squelch, he could copy me fine all day. His transmit audio sounded crisp and clean. He was using an HD helmet headset. I use a J&M helmet headset.
I had no reason to suspect that the CB on the new model FLHTK would sound anything less than good. So it was nice to discover that the CB module still works fine.
I believe the CB module is essentially the same on the new models. However, I was interested to see if the new infotainment system would create any negative issues with the audio and general performance. None noticed.
